PHOTOS & VISUAL ART > Etched Slides

The etched slides are and on-going investigation of language in and of landscape. I'm particularly interested in how the shape of letters and words, even phrases are created from elements in the land. The letters that were drawn together to form our alphabet originated from designs in nature; bird foot prints, branch and grass configurations, cloud and water patterns, etc.

These works are a reminder of that connection, while also seeking to step out of their classic landscapy photohood and into a wider conversation about the relationship between landscape and language.
